Bali’s strong heritage

I love Bali’s strong heritage. Seeing the local people waking up early and presenting offerings to the gods is a delight to watch.

Although there are many tourists, these traditional daily rituals have remained the same for more than 1,000 years!

There are many Balinese craftsmen, with skills passed down through generations. There is no shortage of wooden bags and fabrics. Throughout Bali, there are many handmade products.

In the Aman Nauli Botique Rooms, Where we stayed for three nights, Upcycling was big. Our room was decorated beautifully. I felt like a king in a castle. If I was ever to buy a home, I would like to incorporate some Balinese design into it. The rooms here were spacious.

Everything was unique. Lots of objects had been salvaged (I love salvage and repurposing), I couldn’t help wonder what these artifacts were before.

Similar to the fabric, I loved these pastel tiles and they worked great in the shower room with the Elephant Grey walls and teak/stone flooring.

The stones in the shower helped make the room feel more natural. The larger stepping stones must have been used in the past for something industrial.

Locking the bathroom and balcony doors felt satisfying!

When we arrived at Arya Villa, This open walldrobe and ladder towel rack took my fancy. Bamboo can have so many uses!

These hanging baskets work well, especially when floral wood carvings are absent.

The food is as good as it looks!

One evening after work I decided to visit the supermarket and treat myself to some food. This encounter led onto many adventures.
