In every great city there is a Chinatown. Bangkok’s Chinatown is huge, there’s an overwhelming amount of people and food. There are street venders everywhere selling many treats such as Birds nest soup!

Birds Nest Soup

This Chinese soup is made from the dried saliva found in the nests of the swift bird. Apparently this soup helps with digestion and strengthening the immune system. 1 KG of this can cost thousands of pounds.

I was sceptical of trying this dish and it took me a few visits to Chinatown to finally give it ago. I’m happy to say Birds Nest Soup is deliciously sweet

Fruits & Vegetables

There is a huge selection of fruits and vegetables. In fact I always buy too much because of how spoilt I am with choice.

Getting around

I have spent hours here just walking around, getting lost and people watching.

Packed with market stalls, restaurants, side-streets and a few popular gold shops, Chinatown is an experience not to miss. This place is an amazing introduction to Bangkok.

To fully experience Bangkok’s Chinatown, I suggest visiting at the weekend.

One evening after work I decided to visit the supermarket and treat myself to some food. This encounter led onto many adventures.
